Make Your Home Energy Efficient

March 11th, 2010 / No Comments » / by PrettyFireFly

Climate change is a serious matter. It affects everyone of us. Anthropogenic factors are human activities. The way we abuse and consume our natural resources affect the environment. In some cases the chain of causality of human influence on the climate is direct and unambiguous. In recent usage, especially in the context of environmental policy, climate change usually refers to changes in modern climate. It may be qualified as anthropogenic climate change, more generally known as “global warming“.  There’s a website that provides information about what we could do specifically at home to save our planet. I’ve learned that a compact fluorescent light bulb can last about 10 times longer than standard incandescent bulb. From now on I swear to buy compact light bulbs instead of incandescent ones. I’ve also learned that one of the top ways to save energy is to configure your computer to use sleep or hibernation modes when not in use. An ENERGY STAR labeled computer uses 70% less electricity than computers without this designation. If left inactive, ENERGY STAR labeled desktop computers enter a sleep mode and use 4 watts or less. So the next time you buy computers or other home appliances you should consider buying products with energy saving mode or mechanism. You might want to lower the settings of your heater at home and save $55 a year. These are just some of the tips I’ve learned today.  There is a lot of energy saving tips available on this website that we can easily do at home. I’ve learned what home energy is about and how to maximize your home appliances. You get to save money and more importantly help save the environment.  Visit www.microsoft-hohm.com and sign up now to make our homes more energy efficient and learn how to clean up our act to help save the environment.

Consumer Forum

March 10th, 2010 / No Comments » / by PrettyFireFly

How many times have you experienced really bad customer service or perhaps dissatisfied with a product you purchased with your hard-earned money? I am sure this is something everyone at one point experienced. You feel that you needed to vent out or at least advise other potential victims to stay away from that specific establishment or not to patronize certain products that gives false promises. It’s good to know that there’s a consumer forum you can go to. A niche in cyberspace where you can vent, rant and share your views on anything you can think of. I read one interesting forum about expensive food sold at the cinema. You might want to check it out or post your own unpleasant experience. Let your voice be heard!

U-Pack Vs Truck Rental

March 9th, 2010 / No Comments » / by PrettyFireFly

Truck rental would be your best option when you want to move just across town but when you are moving long distance, I would highly recommend U-pack for you. I learned this from a friend who recently moved upstate. “Compare U-Pack to other truck rental companies and discover that U-Pack is the best value for your money. We drive. You save.®”
