Prepaid Calling Cards On Sale!
Have you ever spent the holiday season alone or away from your family? I can still remember one Christmas away from my family, as if it happened yesterday. December 24 2004, a day before Christmas, I was in Manila with some of my college friends. We were supposed to be in Manila from December 18 to December 23 but we decided to move our flight just a day later. “A day wouldn’t make any difference”, we thought. We didn’t mind paying extra for the fare difference as long as we will have extra time to do our last-minute Christmas shopping. Around 4:00 pm, we were on our way to the airport to catch our 6:30 pm flight going back to Cebu. The good news was we were just a few kilometers away from the airport. The bad news was, it was “raining cats and dogs”. The taxi driver decided to take an alternative route to avoid the traffic jam and the flooded road that “looks more like a river to me”. We finally got to the airport at 6:00 pm. I prayed so hard that they would still let us in. My prayer was answered. We were told that the flight will be delayed due to bad weather. We waited for 2 hours and then we heard the announcement that due to unfavorable weather our flight will be canceled! It’s like a series of unfortunate events in just one day. We were advised to rebook our flights anytime we want within a year and we ended up spending Christmas day in Manila. I was able to call and talk to my family over the phone. Thank God I bought Prepaid Calling Cards. It’s the second best thing to actually being with them at home on Christmas day. Major drama, I know but I’ve learned a lesson or two.
